Coach Tite will make 50 games as the head of the Brazilian men’s soccer team on Tuesday night. The mark will be reached in the tie against Peru, one of the few rivals that managed to defeat him.
The duel, valid for the second round of the tournament, takes place at 9:00 p.m. this Tuesday, at the National Stadium in Lima.
In just over four years at the helm of the national team, Tite has a 78.2% performance. He achieved 35 victories, 10 draws and only four defeats, with 105 goals scored and 17 conceded.
In addition to Peru, the coach lost to Argentina (twice) in friendlies and for him Belgium, in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Russia.

The 1-0 setback against Peru occurred in a friendly played in September last year, in Los Angeles, in the United States. Before that, there were three other clashes with Tite at the head of the team, all with Canarian victory:
- Peru 0 x 2 Brazil, in 2016, for the Qualifiers
- Brazil 5 x 0 Peru, in 2019, in the first phase of the Copa América
- Brazil 3 x 1 Peru, in 2019, in the final of the Copa América
This Tuesday, Peru will equal Argentina as the rival that has faced Brazil the most of Tite, with five games.
At the head of the national team, the coach started for the first time and ensured qualification for the World Cup. In the World Cup, however, the team could not maintain its performance and ended up losing in the quarterfinals.
The other tournament that the national team played with Tite was the Copa América, won last year at home.
In qualifying, the coach remains undefeated. In 13 games, he won 11 wins and two draws.
After Bolivia’s 5-0 win last Friday, Tite showed the numbers of his team on the tip of his tongue.
– There are 24 official games, with an average of 60% possession, 16 submissions and 7 determined per game. We want to play well by translating it into results. It doesn’t make sense to keep the ball and shoot a bit. So, at least, to play well you have to show up 16 times – he commented.
The coach has a contract with the national team until the end of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
