Ten million Brazilians go at least one day a week without eating. With the pandemic, the economic crisis and high food prices, the situation is likely to get worse, according to experts. In the week that the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the UN World Food Program, reporter Marcelo Canellas shows what life is like for those who have nothing to eat.

People like Andressa García Oliveira, a neighbor of Japeri, in Baixada Fluminense, who has no food to offer her seven children every day, are the reason for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize.

The announcement that the award would go to the UN agency that deals with hungry people surprised everyone. Including WFP itself, which stands for World Food Program.

WFP serves 100 million people every day with a fleet of 100 aircraft, 40 ships, trucks, helicopters. See the details in the report.
