I cite as an example the influenza vaccine, when we annually purchase 90 million doses and carry out vaccination coverage for risk groups. These groups (for the covid-19 vaccine) are being defined by a technical chamber, with the scientific community, with technicians, who are identifying the priority groups, which will be the ones to be vaccinated. it’s for everyone. All the Brazilian states, the Federal District and it will reach all our municipalities, ”he said.

He also pointed out that the vaccine will be available in the National Immunization Program within the principles that govern the Unified Health System (SUS): comprehensiveness, equity and universality.

The secretary also said that the folder is in contact with several potential vaccine developers to access the first available immunizer.

“We continue in bilateral contacts not only with the Butantã Institute, but also with other national institutes that seek alliances with international laboratories. We seek to open the opportunity to have access to a safe and effective vaccine as soon as possible. The vaccine that is ready first will surely be an option to acquire, contract, in accordance with Brazilian law “. He stressed, however, that the approval of any of the vaccines depends on the National Sanitary Surveillance Agency (Anvisa).

This Friday, the governor of São Paulo, João Doria, said that he has a “plan B” for the national availability of coronavac doses, if he does not receive financial support from the Ministry of Health for the distribution of the immunizer, which is in the phase of proof. in volunteers and is a partnership between the Butantã Institute and Chinese Sinovac.

Doria confirmed that he has received a visit from deputies, senators and governors from other states, who would already be interested in acquiring the vaccine. He also affirmed that he will have a “definitive” meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Health to decide whether or not the pasta will acquire doses of the vaccine and the subsequent distribution by the SUS.
