The hot and dry weather that prevailed in late September and the first two weeks of October will be tempered by the arrival of the rains.

The heat wave that hit records in Belo Horizonte and Minas Gerais in recent weeks, with temperatures above 38ºC in the capital, and exceeded 40ºC in several cities in the interior of the State, should not be repeated this year. The information is from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet).

The hot and dry weather that dominated the end of September and the first half of October, which combined low humidity and high temperatures, should be appeased with the arrival of the rains in Minas. Especially from next Monday (12), the rains should alleviate the low humidity in the state and Belo Horizonte.

Weather forecast: the weekend will mark the transition to the rainy season in Minas

“One thing is linked to the other. The hot, dry air mass generated the heat wave, there was no rain. It is a pattern that greatly favored these records. Now, in October and November, the rainy season begins and the trend is that (the heat wave) will not happen again ”, explains Maiane Araújo, Inmet meteorologist.

After reaching a record temperature of 38.4ºC this Wednesday (7), this Thursday (8) it registered lower numbers in thermometers in the capital of Minas Gerais. The maximum temperature was 35.9ºC, in the Pampulha region.
