Man stabbed in São Paulo subway after fight inside wagon

A man was stabbed last night inside a subway car in São Paulo. According to the São Paulo subway, the attack occurred after the suspect in the crime and another man physically fought in a car on Red Line 3. The suspect was detained by security agents at the Tatuapé station, which is located in the east side of the capital.

The subway reported a slow line at 9:34 pm, shortly after the incident. However, a few minutes later, the situation returned to normal.

In an interview with TV Bandeirantes, a metro security supervisor reported that six agents from the station were called when the train stopped at Tatuapé. According to him, when the car door was opened, the suspect was “practically lynched by the users”.

Subway security said the attack came after the suspect threatened another passenger, who tried to disarm him and ended up receiving three knife blows.

In a video recorded just after the train stopped in Tatuapé, it is possible to see the suspect dominated by subway security agents and blood on the floor of the car.

Also according to the metro, the attacked man and the suspect were taken to the emergency room in Tatuapé. The stabbed passenger is not at risk of death. The case was registered in the 10th Police District (DP), Penha, as an assassination attempt.
