Brazil confirms 819 more deaths and 41,906 cases of covid-19 in 24 hours

Brazil had at least 147,494 deaths from covid-19 until 5 pm this Tuesday (6.out 2020). It is an increase of 819 victims in 24 hours. The data are from the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry of Health also registered a total of 4,969,141 cases. There are 41,906 more than those registered the previous day.

Approximately 4.3 million people have recovered from the disease to date. Another 468.8 thousand are being followed up.

Brazil is the second country with the most deaths from the new coronavirus. Only the United States has more victims: 215,641.

The number of victims in Brazil is also high when the proportional comparison is made. There are 696 victims per million inhabitants, according to the crossing of data from the Ministry of Health with the latest population estimate published by IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics).

The rate places Brazil in the 3rd position in the world ranking. Peru is the country where the covid-19 kills the most in relation to the number of inhabitants. There are 992 victims per million people. Federal District, Rio de Janeiro, Roraima, Amazonas and Mato Grosso have the highest rate.

The Southeast concentrated 52.6% of all confirmed deaths this Tuesday (6.out).

The Northeast registered 43.3% of the new confirmed cases in 24 hours.
