Many players start their journey in Genshin Impact believing that they can do everything together with their friends. But the reality is different: it takes several hours of progress through the story before the multiplayer mode is unlocked.
More specifically, co-op mode is available as soon as the player reaches Adventure Rank 16.
As soon as this barrier is overcome, the cooperative mode icon appears in the upper left corner of the screen. The button is a white circle with a star in the middle. When pressed, the list of available rooms appears on the screen; from there, you can join strangers games that are open to the public, or ask to enter the worlds of players on the friends list.
Before entering the game’s multiplayer, consider figuring out how to get the best characters in the game for free or learn which characters in the game are the strongest.

Genshin Impact has the cross-play function enabled in all its versions; which means that you can play with your friend even if they are on a different platform than yours.
An important caveat: it is only possible to play multiplayer with players who are on the same world level as you. The world level is a metric that tells you exactly where the story is progressing.
Multiplayer still has several limitations for ‘visiting’ players – they can’t collect items like the Eyes of the Wind Statue or Geoculus, and they can’t open chests on their own either.
Activities that can be enjoyed in multiplayer include: taking on enemies and bosses from around the world, completing daily missions, and entering Domains, as the game’s dungeons are called.
Genshin Impact is free to play and now available for Playstation 4, personal computer, ios me Android. A version of Nintendo switch It has already been announced, but does not have a confirmed release date yet.
