The Rede Vitória news team traveled to the island of Dr. Américo de Oliveira, 24 hours after the massacre that left four dead on Monday (28). The place, scene of the execution, is located between the Santo Antônio neighborhood, in Vitória, and Porto de Santana, in Cariacica.
A lot of dirt on the island. Scattered plastic bottles, slippers, polystyrene containers and traces of people who pass by and end up contaminating the Vitória bay.
At the crime scene, it is already possible to see a lot of disorder from afar. Beer bottles thrown on the ground, dogs going round and round in the trash, as well as pieces of burned wood, possibly serving on some kind of stove.
According to the Civil Police, the place is frequented by many people, mainly for leisure. But according to the inhabitants of the region, the island also receives drug traffickers, who go by boat to hide narcotics in the undergrowth.
The space is also used, according to the people, for the packaging and storage of medicines. According to residents of the bay, the traffickers take advantage of the fact that the place is hidden to prepare drugs and then return to the city and sell the material.
Sacrifice
The afternoon of last Monday (28), which apparently would be leisure, ended tragically for four friends from the Santo Antônio region. The crime, which shocked Espírito Santo, resulted in the murder of four people and a wound on Dr. Américo de Oliveira Island, in Vitória Bay.
According to investigations, at least six people were on the island at the time of the crime. Investigators from the Homicide Department reported that the snipers arrived in two boats and surrounded the region. At least 30 shots were fired at the victims.
A video, circulating on social networks, shows moments before the massacre took place. Police suspect that the images were recorded by one of the snipers.
