The Deliberative Council of Saints approved on Monday evening the opinion of the club’s CIS (Investigation and Investigation Commission) and opened the impeachment process against President José Carlos Peres.
The representative will be removed from the position as of this Monday and will not be able to exercise any function in the team until the process is finished. Orlando Rollo, his deputy, assumes the presidency on an interim basis.
Seven other members of the Steering Committee were temporarily removed: Anilton Perão, Bruno Carbone, Estevam Juhas, Fábio Gaia, Matheus Rodrigues, Paulo Schiff and Pedro Dória. Rollo, without a role since 2018, was not involved in the action.
Now, the General Meeting of Partners will be called to decide whether Peres really leaves the presidency or remains.
Members can vote on the procedure that will decide the future of the top hat, which must take place within 60 days.
In the Council vote, which was carried out virtually and did not include Peres, there were 161 votes in favor, six against and nine abstentions.
To accept the opinion of the CIS, the disapprovals in the club’s accounts in 2019 and 2018 were taken into account (in the latter, with a deficit of R $ 77 million).
In addition, 2020 is already getting complicated, with a new deficit of more than R $ 40 million in the first semester.
It is worth remembering that, with the the impeachment process Now open, José Carlos Peres has no more right of defense, and now we have to wait for the result of the General Assembly.
