After an impasse outside the four lines, Palmeiras and Flamengo entered the field this afternoon (27), at Allianz Parque, for the 12th day of the Brazilian Championship. And, with the ball rolling, the teams were tied 1-1 in the “game of discord.” Patrick de Paula opened the scoring for the locals and Pedro tied.

The game started 20 minutes late. After the uncertainty, the confrontation was only confirmed after the TST (Superior Labor Court) accepted a request from CBF and reversed the decisions of the Rio de Janeiro Regional Labor Court (TRT-RJ) that had decreed the postponement of the game. . Flamengo, with a team completely disfigured by a Covid-19 outbreak and commanded this afternoon by Jordi Guerreiro, made a balanced match and surprised a Palmeiras with many problems in the creation.

With the result, the two teams lose the opportunity to get closer to the leader Atlético-MG. Palmeiras, with 19 points, is in fourth position and Fla, with 18, is sixth.

Now, the teams are focused on the Libertadores. Palmeiras receives Bolívar on Wednesday (30), while Flamengo faces Independiente del Valle the same day in Maracanã.

The great names of Flamengo this afternoon, midfielder Arrascaeta and center forward Pedro commanded the good performance of the team. Experienced, the Uruguayan managed to distribute the game well and make “the team move.” Pedro, always dangerous, was responsible for Rubro-Negro’s goal.

Veron misses the chance and goes wrong

If, on the one hand, the young people from Flamengo did the job, the same cannot be said for Gabriel Verón. The young man from the base alviverde had a bad first half and was substituted at half-time. Besides him, Gabriel Menino also left the game before the second half. Very little for the guys who had a chance among the headlines.

How was the game?

Contrary to what was imagined, the game was marked by balance. Palmeiras dominated possession in the opening minutes, but offered no danger. Flamengo had the best chances in the first half. Pedro and Arrascaeta, with shots from the edge of the area, forced Weverton to make two good saves. On the positive side, just before the break the team threatened, with the submission of Zé Rafael saved by Hugo.

In the second half, Palmeiras managed to break Flamengo’s defense after nine minutes of kicking from outside Patrick de Paula’s area. With a bit of luck, it is true, the ball deflected in the middle of the road and knocked out goalkeeper Hugo. But a minute later came the tie. Pedro appeared well positioned between two markers and completed a right cross to goal.

In the end, Flamengo continued with personality and was closer to the second goal than to the rival.

The lack of creativity in Palmeiras became evident this Sunday. Faced with a Flamengo with a very different line-up, the team had difficulties proposing the match. He got a lot of ball, yes, but without effectiveness.

It was “by chance” that the team managed to open the scoring with Patrick de Paula. The midfielder risked a shot from outside the area and had a deflection to pass goalkeeper Hugo. However, the advantage was short-lived.

Disfigured, Flamengo surprises

Flamengo arrived at Allianz Parque with only 20 minutes to 4:00 p.m. and had to prepare in a hurry for the start of the match. Despite that, when the ball rolled, the team didn’t seem to feel it. Despite being completely disfigured, with only four players making headlines, Rubro-Negro balanced the actions and, in many moments, was superior.

The team didn’t seem to feel even when it fell behind. Flamengo had an immediate reaction when he conceded the first goal and had Pedro’s good position to tie in the next minute.

It should be remembered that, in total, Flamengo has 19 players infected by the coronavirus, as well as members of the technical staff, the football department and the coaches. The contagion outbreak occurred during the delegation’s visit to Ecuador, where coach Domènec Torrent’s team faced Independiente del Valle, on the 17th, and Barcelona de Guayaquil, last Tuesday, for the Libertadores.

Neutral before departure

Until just before 4:00 p.m. there was a dead end in the realization of the game. That is because the Rio de Janeiro Regional Labor Court (TRT-RJ) yesterday accepted the Sindiclubes request and ordered the postponement of the duel. TRT-RJ still denied a request from CBF today to reverse the decision.

In the sports field, the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) also denied, yesterday, a new request from Flamengo for the postponement of the match. However, with the decision of the TRT-RJ in the Common Justice following the request of Sindiclubes, the game was still suspended.

Just around 3:50 p.m., the TST (Superior Labor Court) granted the CBF appeal and accepted the confederation’s request for the match, which confirmed that the teams would go to the field. This was the last resort and there was no possibility of appeal.

Before that, Palmeiras threatened to ask for the Brazilian Championship to be stopped if the game did not happen.
