Champion of everything last season, Bayern Munich had 32 games unbeaten counting all competitions. But this Sunday that incredible record fell apart. And it fell ugly: Hoffenheim win 4-1, away from home, for the second round of the German Championship.
Kramaric, twice – one of them took Neuer’s penalty in extra time -, Bicakcic and Dabbur scored the local goals. Kimmich, with a beautiful shot at the angle, discounted for the Bavarians, who were coming off 23 wins in a row.
Bayern’s last defeat was exactly nine months and 20 days ago, when they lost 2-1 to Borussia M’Gladbach on December 7, 2019.

Top scorer in the last Champions League and candidate for the best prize in the world, Lewandowski started on the bench (in addition to two other absolute starters: Coman and Goretzka). The Pole took the field in the second half when the game was 2-1, but was left blank.
In addition to the good performance of Hoffenheim, who were perfect in the counterattacks and even opened 2-0 in the first half, the defeat can also be placed on the account of fatigue. Bayern played last Thursday in the final of the European Super Cup, beating Sevilla only in extra time.
After the unexpected setback, Bayern Munich, who beat Schalke 04 8-0 in the first round of the Bundesliga, are preparing for the duel against archrival Borussia Dortmund, next Wednesday, by decision of the German Super Cup.
