SÃO PAULO, SEPTEMBER 25 (ANSA) – Lawyer Frederick Wassef, who already represented President Jair Bolsonaro and one of his sons, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (Republicans-RJ), was denounced on Friday (25) by the working group . of Lava Jato in Rio de Janeiro on suspicion of embezzlement and money laundering.
The complaint is part of the deployment of the operation “Schema S”, which investigates an alleged scheme of diversions of entities of the Río S.
In addition to Wassef, four others were also denounced: Orlando Diniz, former president of Fecomércio-RJ; the businessman Marcelo Cazzo; and the attorneys Luiza Nagib Eluf and Marcia Carina Castelo Branco Zampiron.
According to investigators, suspicious movements were found in the accounts of Bolsonaro’s former lawyer between December 2016 and May 2017.
Wassef and lawyer Márcia Zampiron, wife of Ivan Guimarães, are accused of receiving funds diverted from Sistema S through the office of lawyer Luiza Eluf, who signed a contract for R $ 4.4 million with the entity.
Investigators want to know if the money was used for some specific activity or simply for the exclusive interest of Orlando Diniz, such as, for example, the persecution of personal opponents.
According to the Federal Public Ministry (MPF), “the members already denounced by the criminal organization used the use of false contracts with the offices of the accused or third parties indicated by them, in which the legal services indicated in the contracts were not provided, they were paid for high rates ”.
