SÃO PAULO – Sony, a Japanese company that manufactures electronic products, announced that it will close its only factory in Brazil, in Manaus. In a statement, the multinational said that the operations of the plant will be closed in March 2021.
The company also announced that it will end sales of televisions, audio equipment and cameras in the country in mid-2021.
The company says the decision “aims to strengthen the structure and sustainability of its business, in order to respond to the rapid changes in the external environment.”
