Marcos Roberto de Almeida, known to Africans or Tuta, is the main target of today’s operation by the Public Ministry, which targets those suspected of assuming leadership of the faction. According to investigations, today he is the greatest leadership of the PCC (First Command of the Capital) in the streets.
Almeida is named a member of the “restricted” cell, responsible for taking over the addresses of authorities and police who are targeted for possible attacks by the criminal organization.
In May of last year, Gaeco and Rota police officers launched the Jiboia operation to try to arrest Almeida and six other suspects of belonging to the “restricted” cell. Search and seizure warrants were issued against the group.
A white Porsche Macan was found in one of Almeida’s addresses, on Giovanni Gronchi Avenue, in Morumbi, a noble neighborhood in the city of São Paulo. In another place, in the Campo Grande neighborhood, also a prime area, mobile phones, notebooks, R $ 182,620 in cash and a card from an African consulate were seized. There was no one on the properties.
The MP discovered that the gang rented a car at Guarulhos airport in early May last year and put a logo on a pay TV operator. The vehicle, occupied by two men, went to a condominium where three captains of the Military Police who work for Gaeco lived.
At the reception, they said they went there to check the operator’s signal strength, but since they had no customer names, they were stopped at the reception. However, they were photographed and still gave their real names, albeit incomplete.
Then the car went to another condominium, where a prosecutor lives. The suspicion is that the two men generated information about the habits and routine of the authority. They were identified and search and seizure warrants were carried out at their homes.
The operator told police that the two did not serve him. He also informed that it is not standard to provide service in a certain place without having the names of the clients.
The investigations indicated that the “restricted” cell planned to kill, in addition to the three captains, the prosecutor and also one of the most voted parliamentarians in São Paulo and two former secretaries of state.
In May of last year, during the Jiboia operation, Rota, in compliance with the search and seizure orders, ended up detaining three men because, in their house, there were a large quantity of drugs, in addition to materials related to the accounts. of the criminal faction.
All three were convicted by the courts. The process that investigates the actions of the “restricted” cell is kept secret.
Today’s operation
Today’s operation, against suspects of having taken control of the PCC, includes 12 arrest warrants and around 40 charges of search and seizure in the state of São Paulo. Until around 9:30 am, a suspect was killed in Praia Grande, on the coast. Five were arrested.
According to Gaeco’s investigation, the current command of the faction would be made up of 21 people. Among the current chiefs, some are said to be on the run in Paraguay, Bolivia and the African continent.
The São Paulo MP ranks today’s operation as the most important, since it transferred the leaders of the factions to the federal prison system in February last year.
