Geninho suffered the second consecutive defeat in front of Avaí in Serie B of the Brazilian Championship, losing 1-0 to Ponte Preta. With negative results and the “culture of dismissal” in Brazilian football, the risk of falling under Leão’s command was the subject of a press conference.

In addition to talking about his situation, Avaí’s coach also commented on the departure of Tiago Nunes from Corinthians this Friday. For the experienced coach, who led the São Paulo team in 2003 and 2006, the pressure for results is normal. However, he highlighted other factors, such as political struggles and threats.

– I’ve been through this situation several times. I am 33/34 years old as a coach. I already worked for Corinthians, that pressure that Tiago Nunes suffered, I suffered there. It is not the first time, because I was champion, the team had a beautiful campaign. The second was difficult. I had a better team at hand, but I had a terrible internal political fight – he said.

In addition to the pressure for the result, the experienced coach recalled the extra-field load in one of his passes to Corinthians and cited cases of invasions worse, according to him, than those suffered by Figueirense in training last Saturday at the Orlando Scarpelli stadium .

– I had a field invasion weekly. What we saw in Figueirense, I experienced in Corinthians every week. Pressure suffered by everyone, any coach of any team. The coach who chose this profession and considers it comfortable, is not finished.
