An evangelical pastor invaded and stole R $ 50 thousand from the Santa Terezinha do Menino Jesús parish, in Santo Amaro, São Paulo, on Monday (7). According to the Civil Police, the man is a fugitive. Information is from G1.
According to Father Marcos Miranda, the pastor was identified by the community and even by relatives. Church security cameras recorded the suspect’s action. “A mother came, the whole family came and identified him. They told me that he is a pastor in an evangelical church and oscillates between the life of God and drug addiction, ”the parish priest told G1.
Also according to the priest, the money taken by the parish priest would be used to pay the church employees and the service of a work on the roof of the parish. The action of the thief took place during the holiday of September 7, the suspect entered the church after breaking into the windows of the office.
“He broke into eight donation urns from the faithful and a candle. The money he found in the office and that’s what we managed to count. The polls had not yet been opened and we don’t know how much it cost, but the weekly average is R $ 1.5 thousand ”, the priest told G1.
The pastor also says he hopes the police can locate the pastor. “The only thing I hope is that justice is served and he pays for the crime he committed. It’s hard for me to get the money back. The community around the church is very needy, peripheral and needs a welcoming space, as we offer it in the church ”.
