Plane crashes about 15 minutes after taking off from Pampulha airport, in BH | Minas Gerais

A plane crashed at the Pampulha airport, in Belo Horizonte, on Monday night (7). According to the Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company (Infraero), the G200 aircraft, prefix PR AUR, took off at 6:09 pm and returned at 6:26 pm to the terminal.

The Fire Department reported that the turbine of the plane, which was already on the ground, caught fire. The corporation did not act on the event and the situation was controlled by the airport brigades. Infraero reinforced that the problem occurred after landing.

The Military Police (PM) said that three people were inside the aircraft. According to firefighters, no one was injured.

The Pampulha airport traffic room reported that the plane is private. The Brazilian Aeronautical Registry (RAB) establishes that the owner of the aircraft is Daycoval Leasing – Banco Múltiplo SA. HE G1 contacted the bank, but had not received a return until the last update of this report.

The aircraft was manufactured by Israel Aircraft and the airworthiness status is “normal” at the RAB.

The causes of the incident will be investigated by the Center for the Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (Cenipa). Also according to Infraero, the airport runway was closed until 6:55 p.m., when it was released after the plane was removed.
