Cruzeiro returned with a stumbling block for Serie B of the 2020 Brazilian Championship. The team drew 1-1 with CRB, tonight (7), for the eighth day of the Second National Division, and reached the sixth consecutive game without a positive result. Marcelo Moreno opened the scoring in Mineirão and Léo Gamalho tied in the final minutes of the second half.

With the result, Enderson Moreira’s team is ranked 16th, with five points. CRB is in seventh place, with 13 points.

Raposa returns to the field on Friday (11), at 9:30 p.m. (Brasilia time), to face Vitória, again in Mineirão. CRB plays Chapecoense on October 14, at 7:15 pm (Brasilia time).

Who did it well: Machado

Back in the starting lineup, the midfielder performed well against the CRB. With more disposition than Ariel Cabral, he played alongside Henrique and created good plays in midfield. It was he who assisted Marcelo Moreno’s goal in the first half of the match valid for the eighth day of Series B of the Brazilian Championship.

Léo Gamalho scores again against Cruzeiro

Escalated as a benchmark for the CRB, the forward did not have an outstanding performance against Cruzeiro. It was difficult for him to bring danger to the opposing goal and he created little in the movements that could appear. The striker, who was a Cruzeiro killer in previous games, did not do so well in Mineirão, tonight (7). However, in the final minutes, he had errors from Machado and Ariel Cabral to balance Fábio’s net.

Moreno scores the 2nd goal in 13 games for Cruzeiro

Considered Cruzeiro’s main signing this season, Marcelo Moreno balanced the net again tonight (7). The 33-year-old striker scored the second goal in 13 games for the team led by Enderson Moreira. He took advantage of a corner kick from Filipe Machado to cover the opposing net. The move happened in the first half. Before that, he had scored against Guarani-SP, for the second round of Serie B.

Cruzeiro has difficulty creating and overcomes crosses

With difficulties to take the reins of the party, Cruzeiro tried to advance lines and dominate the game. The difficulty for Enderson Moreira’s men was creating opportunities. The team went overboard at the crossroads into the large area. Filipe Machado, Raúl Cáceres and Matheus Pereira did several polls, but they did not find Marcelo Moreno, the team’s benchmark in the great rival area.

CRB closes, tries counterattacks and encounters difficulties

Closed in the defense field, the CRB had difficulties to face Cruzeiro and go on counterattacks. The team tried to get to the offensive sector quickly with Bill (who entered the second half) and Léo Gamalho. However, it was very well marked and created little. On the rare occasions of scoring, the team stopped on the lack of aim and on Fábio’s defenses. Léo Gamalho, however, shook the net in the final minutes of the second half.
