The RS Government keeps Porto Alegre and seven other regions under the red flag

The government of Rio Grande do Sul released on Monday the final map of the 18th round of the Controlled Distance model. After featured features, the State kept eight regions under the red flag, that is, with high risk for Covid-19. They are: Palmeira das Missões, Erechim, Capão da Canoa, Novo Hamburgo, Canoas, Porto Alegre, Santo Ângelo and Cruz Alta.

Not preliminary map, 12 regions have been classified under the red flag. Of these, seven submitted appeals to the state government to review the assessment. The applications of Palmeiras das Missões and Erechim were rejected. However, Taquara, Guaíba, Santa Cruz do Sul and Lajeado managed to return to the orange flag. With this, 13 regions are classified as medium risk for the disease.

The places classified with the red flag are not authorized to adopt the return of class activities in Early Childhood Education schools, allowed by the State as of this Tuesday only in regions with an orange or yellow flag.

Of the total of regions, 17 joined the co-management, in which it is possible to adopt protocols less restrictive to the flag in which they are classified, but at least equal to the previous flag: They are: Capão da Canoa, Taquara, Novo Hamburgo, Canoas, Porto Alegre, Palmeira das Missões, Passo Fundo, Pelotas, Caxias do Sul, Santa Cruz do Sul, Lajeado, Santo Ângelo, Ijuí, Santa Rosa, Cachoeira do Sul, Erechim and Cruz Alta.
