Between yesterday and today, Brazil registered 447 new deaths from covid-19. According to data compiled by the Ministry of Health, the disease has already caused the death of 126,650 people in the country.
Since the start of the pandemic, 4,137,521 people have contracted the new coronavirus in the country, of that total, 14,521 diagnoses have been confirmed in the last 24 hours.

The government of Rio Grande do Sul yesterday published a decree that establishes the schedule for the return to face-to-face classes in public and private schools.
Starting Tuesday (8), classes will return to early childhood education. Secondary and higher education face-to-face classes are scheduled to return on September 21. Classes for the final years of elementary school return on October 28, and the first years of elementary school, on November 12.
In São Paulo, the government of João Doria (PSDB) marked the return of face-to-face extracurricular activities for September 8 on the state network, with regular classes returning on October 7. Four teachers unions in São Paulo have sued the courts to try to block the decision.
This Sunday (6), the Secretary of Education of the State, Rossieli Soares, told CNN that he rules out the possibility of a teacher strike on the way back to school amid the coronavirus pandemic. “The union has already opposed going back to school, but has not yet spoken of strikes. We do not believe, at this time, that there will be a strike,” he said.
