In repudiation of the act, Vasco also issued a note calling for an end to the violence. Check it out below.

The Vasco da Gama Club de Regatas expresses its total indignation at the aggression suffered by the Figueirense professionals at the hands of vandals dressed as fans this Saturday (05/09), during the team’s training.

It is absurd that acts of this nature continue to occur without a definite purpose. At some point, players and members of the Vasco da Gama coaching staff have also been victims of a gang that attacks with the certainty that there will be no punishment. Luckily and for the sake of football, the true fans, who support their team at any time, do not agree with such acts.

Sport and violence do not coincide. That it is not necessary for a tragedy to occur for the voices of football to finally rise up against this situation.
