The scandal involving federal deputy Flordelis, accused of ordering the death of her husband Anderson do Carmo, also affects the religious activities of the parliamentarian. According to the newspaper Extra, four of the five branches of the church that she coordinates closed their doors.

Before Anderson’s murder in June last year, the Flordelis church had its headquarters in São Gonçalo and five other branches. Now, only the headquarters and a branch in Piratininga continue to operate, according to the newspaper.

Also according to the newspaper, in the evangelical sphere the bet is that the end of all the churches in Flordelis is near. Anderson do Carmo was the president of the Flordelis Ministry and appealed to believers by his preaching, known to be outgoing and engaging. Flordelis, meanwhile, called the public mainly for her performance as a singer in the services, in addition to acting as an advisor to the regulars.

With Anderson’s death in June of last year, and the revelations of the existence of a plan within the family to assassinate him, the deputy began to see the stampede of parishioners and members, some of the family itself.

To make matters worse, one of Flordelis’s affectionate sons, Pastor Carlos Ubiraci, was arrested last 24 on charges of involvement in the crime. He assumed the presidency of the Flordelis Ministry after the assassination and commanded the Piratininga branch, the only one still in operation.
