Five of the seven churches of the Flordelis Ministry, an evangelical community named after the federal deputy who was denounced on charges of planning the murder of her husband, Pastor Anderson do Carmo, closed their doors after the crime. The church, which already had up to 5,000 members, now has only 200 faithful, according to the Twitter. They are part of the “hard core” of followers of the religious leader.

Only two temples are still active: a service that took place last Thursday (3) at the headquarters, in the Mutondo neighborhood, in São Gonçalo (RJ), was attended by only 30 people, according to a report by the newspaper “Extra” – the place received more than a thousand people.

Flordelis was not only arrested on suspicion of involvement in the crime because she has parliamentary immunity from her position. She denies any involvement in the crime.

The only branch of the church is in the Piratininga neighborhood, in Niterói (RJ). In the religious sphere, it is commented that the marked stampede of the faithful makes the end of the institution “a matter of time.”

Flordelis’s behavior after Pastor Anderson’s death caused him to lose credibility. Then people started to disconnect. The faithful stopped believing in her. In the same week of the crime, some 400 faithful left

Former church member, who did not identify himself for fear of retaliation

Together with her husband, Flordelis dos Santos (PSD-RJ) managed a network of churches that had been growing in recent years. There was also the construction of a new headquarters, a project that was closely monitored by Anderson before his death in June 2019.

The leaders of the evangelical community still try to maintain ties with the faithful and celebrate services for dozens of people, according to “Extra.”

One of the strategies adopted to keep the churches running was a name change: instead of the Flordelis Ministry, the institution was renamed Cidade do Fogo. Still, the number of believers leaving the community is growing.

Notification of the Chamber

The federal deputy for the Rio PSD must be notified next Tuesday (8) by Internal Affairs of the Chamber about the investigation process in the Chamber that may culminate with the termination of her mandate. You will then have five days to deliver your defense in writing, as allowed by statute. The term is extendable for the same period, totaling up to ten days.

“According to the regulations, you have five days to present the defense and we will use this prerogative,” the deputy of the deputy informed the report.

Tuesday’s notification in Brasilia was agreed between the Flordelis team and the Corregedoria da Câmara, after two unsuccessful attempts, in the office and in the functional department. The initial prediction was that the third notification attempt would take place today at the deputy residence in Rio de Janeiro, but after she agreed to receive the warning on Tuesday, it ended up being postponed.

Notification already in Brasilia also generates less costs for the Chamber, since an employee would have to travel to Rio just for the activity, informed the Chamber’s magistrate, deputy Paulo Bengtson (PTB-PA).

Reported for homicide

Flordelis was denounced on charges of being responsible for the death of her husband, Pastor Anderson do Carmo. Five of her children, in addition to her granddaughter, were arrested on the 24th, in an operation coordinated by the Rio de Janeiro Public Ministry and the Civil Police.

Because she has parliamentary immunity, the deputy cannot be arrested, unless she is committing flagrant crime. In total, 11 people were reported for the crime.

If Flordelis is not found again, a statement about the process will be published in the Official Gazette of the Federation, the Department of Internal Affairs is already working on the process, with about 8 thousand pages, for the issuance of an opinion.
