A 16-year-old teenager ran over and killed a woman who was on the sidewalk of a street in Várzea Grande, in the Metropolitan Region of Cuiabá (MT). According to the Military Police, the driver was speeding when he got on the sidewalk and ran over 27-year-old Karoline Thaise Rosa Pinto, who died on the spot.

During a search of the vehicle the teenager was driving, police found beer bottles. He also took a breathalyzer test, which indicated that he had consumed alcohol. The minor was apprehended.
Before running over Karoline, the young man also collided with a motorcycle. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital with fractures to his left arm and leg.
