performance

The annual income of FGTS, by law, is 3%. With profit sharing, the fund’s 2019 income increases to 4.9%.

Thus, without this salary, for every R $ 100.00 that the worker had in the account at the beginning of 2019, he would have, at the end of the period, the amount of R $ 103.00. After the distribution of profits, the balance would be R $ 104.90.

That is, in practice, the worker will receive an amount of R $ 1.90 for every R $ 100 that he had in the FGTS on December 31. The deposit in the account will be made on August 31.

According to information from CAIXA, the amounts will be deposited in 167 million accounts, active and inactive, which will receive credit for the distribution of results. The average amount distributed per FGTS account will be R $ 45.

The amount of the credit can be consulted in the FGTS application, the Caixa website (fgts.caixa.gov.br) or the Caixa Internet Banking.

Who drew the FGTS

It is worth mentioning that the income refers to the year 2019, although it is only paid in August. Consequently, deposits will be made considering the amount in the accounts as of December 31, 2019.

Whoever withdrew the amount of the FGTS after December 31, either by giving up or acquiring their own home, for example, does not lose income.

Those who made the withdrawal before December 31, will receive the money proportional to what they had in the account on the 31st.

How to draw

The additional amount related to earnings will be deposited into the workers’ own FGTS accounts. The withdrawal and the prerequisites for withdrawals do not change with the new FGTS deposit.

Workers dismissed without cause, who have terminated a fixed-term contract, enter their own home or are retired have access to the total balance of the resource.

FGTS benefit

The profit of FGTS is not new for 2020. It turns out that last year 100% of the profits of the fund were distributed in 2018, bringing the profitability of the FGTS accounts closer to 6%.

In 2017, the same law that released FGTS dormant account withdrawals also determined the distribution of 50% of the fund’s earnings.
