SÃO PAULO – The São Paulo Lava-Jato working group denounced the former director of the state-owned company Dersa (Desenvolvimento Rodoviário S / A), Paulo Vieira de Souza, known as Paulo Preto, his ex-wife and two daughters.

Members of the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) claim that the family used a hotel in Ubatuba, on the coast of São Paulo, to hide the bribe obtained by Souza when he was then director of Dersa.

The group of prosecutors who signed the complaint against Souza asked for his collective resignation on Wednesday. Still, they will continue their work until September 30, when the transition phase ends. For leaving, they alleged incompatibilities with the natural attorney, Viviane Oliveira Martínez, with whom they share the process of the operation in São Paulo. They also claim that Viviane created difficulties for the progress of the investigations and that she requested the postponement of the operation that the former governor of São Paulo José Serra (PSDB) reached.

According to the MPFl, Souza used various devices to hide the illicit origin of R $ 7 million and allegedly involved the ex-wife, Ruth Arana de Souza, in the alleged criminal scheme, and also, in part of the facts, the two daughters , Priscilla. Arana de Souza and Tatiana Arana Souza Cremoni.

Prosecutors maintain that the arrangement also included the participation of operators Adir Assad and Rodrigo Tacla Duran, as well as Afrânio de Paula Barbosa, manager of the hotel owned by the Souza family in Ubatuba.

Lava-Jato alleges that Vieira diverted more than R $ 7 million from the payment of compensation to residents affected by works of the state company, such as those of Rodoanel Sul. In addition, he is also accused of coordinating a cartel of construction companies in works of Dersa and of receiving bribes from various companies, in amounts that add up to almost R $ 20 million.

Souza is designated by prosecutors as the PSDB bribery operator, but has consistently denied the charges.
