HE Luiza stores announced on Thursday the purchase of start up food delivery company AiQFome, expanding the shelf of services to test your market’s recurring usage.
Headquartered in Maringá (PR), AiQFome serves 350 cities with a platform of 2 million customers and 17 thousand restaurants, handling around 700 million reais a year.
The value of the transaction has not been disclosed. According to Magazine Luiza’s CFO and Investor Relations Director Roberto Bellissimo, the value is not materially relevant.
In addition to serving primarily smaller cities, with a population of 15,000 to 300,000 inhabitants each, AiQFome has a different model than the more popular food delivery apps, such as iFood, Rappi me Uber Eats, since the application is only used to mediate the order and payment of meals, while the delivery is in charge of the restaurants.
AiQFome will be integrated into the Magalu super app, which in recent years has begun to include digital wallets and e-commerces from Netshoes, Zattini and Época Cosméticos, among others.
According to Bellissimo, Magazine Luiza will soon begin testing with AiQFome, including delivery services, while also expanding investments in the business to serve the largest cities.
“In addition to expanding the offer of services in our market, the objective with the purchase is for AiQFome to increase the recurrence of the use of our super app,” the executive told reporters about internet transmission.
