In the post, however, Marinho clarified that he was aiming and playing with Santos’ photographer Ivan Storti, who was positioned next to the VAR booth.

– To be clear, I did not do anything to provoke the VAR! I just told our photographer that Lucas Veríssimo would score after I got to the corner! So, I don’t want to create controversy about something that could harm me, wrote Marinho.

Three days after being used to annul Santos’ two goals against Flamengo, VAR once again played a leading role in Vila Belmiro itself, but this time against Vasco.

In the first stage, the video referee took five minutes to validate Vasco’s goal, scored by Fellipe Bastos. In the second half, Alison’s penalty was scored in favor of Vasco also with the help of the video.
