Palmeiras and Inter played today (2) a match tied for 90 minutes, but with frantic increases. With goals from Galhardo, in the 46th minute of the second half, and Luiz Adriano, in the 48th minute, they tied 1-1 at Allianz Parque, in a match for the seventh round of the Brazilian Championship. The result keeps Colorado as the leader of the competition, and Verdão undefeated, but in the middle of the table.
The teams play again on Sunday (6). Palmeiras visits Red Bull Bragantino at 11:00. The International leader, in turn, receives Bahia, at 4:00 p.m., in Beira-Rio.
Wilton Pereira Sampaio and the VAR – part 2
The referee of tonight’s match was the protagonist in the last day of Brasileirão, for annulling both Santos goals against Flamengo after long analysis by the video referee. In Allianz Parque, the VAR once again played an important role: Luan failed to disarm inside the yellow area and as a consequence the ball touched his hand. Wilton Pereira Sampaio initially considered the play accidental and scored nothing. Elmo Alves Resende Cunha, in the video booth, requested the conference and a penalty was awarded. Galhardo, to the beat, opened the scoreboard.
Luiz Adriano saves again
As it has been since the return of Brazilian football in July, Luiz Adriano was once again the great offensive name of Palmeiras. When the team was behind the scoreboard, they participated in the beginning and end of the tying play, marked by shirt 10, with a head – curiously, Gustavo Gómez went on the attack and made the center. It is the center forward’s 10th goal of the season, top scorer in 2020.
The best: Johnny helps with a good result for the leader
In a game with very few offensive actions, better for Internacional, which rested seven players and returned to Porto Alegre (RS) with an important point. At age 18, Johnny’s steering wheel was one of the novelties and caught the attention of the red side. The boy is the son of the lower categories of Inter, but plays for the lower categories of the United States.
The worst: Viña has a very irregular performance
One of Palmeiras’ reinforcements for 2020, the Uruguayan left-back returned after three games away, two due to hip pain and another due to being on the bench. Viña was one of the low points in Palmeiras’ weak start at Allianz Parque. With many errors, the 17 shirt gave way to Diogo Barbosa in the second half.
71 minutes without a shot on goal
Weverton and Marcelo Lomba were out of work for 71 minutes of the match at Palmeiras. The first shot on goal came in the 26th minute of the second half: Boschilia took a free kick that Weverton saved over the line. The video referee even analyzed the play to make sure the ball didn’t completely cross the line, but nothing was scored.
For Inter, the first draw; for Palmeiras, another draw
After three victories in a row, Inter had their first draw in the Brazilian today. The result, however, kept the team leading the championship, with 16 points after seven rounds. Colorado will only leave first place if São Paulo defeats Atlético-MG, tomorrow (3), in Mineirão, and still achieves a difference of five goals on the balance sheet.
Palmeiras has another tie. It is the fourth in six games played, which leaves Vanderlei Luxembourg’s team with ten points, in seventh position.
