The mayor of Rio, Marcelo Crivella (Republicans), exonerated the Undersecretary of Animal Welfare, Roberto da Conceição de Paula. According to a report by Época magazine, he was accused of sexual harassment by two servants and a former inmate.

The exoneration decree was published in today’s edition of the Official Gazette.

According to the magazine, the women registered last Friday (28) events in which they accuse the now former undersecretary of sexual harassment on different occasions, between December 2018 and April of this year.

In addition to the testimonies, the three presented the police witnesses confirming their complaints and WhatsApp messages.

One of the servants said the undersecretary tried to kiss her at a work party in December 2019, according to the report. Her report was confirmed by a witness.

“In December, at a company party, held in Campo Grande (West Zone of the city), the author harassed the victim with constant messages calling her and then began to hold her tightly. On the aforementioned date, La he pulled her arms at the party and tried to kiss her, ”the police file reported.

Another server reported that De Paula asked her out via messages. With refusals, she changed her position, in a kind of punishment.

The former intern said he used to kiss her on the corner of her mouth. In the Época report, the servants stated that they felt harmed by the then undersecretary in the workplace.

Roberto de Paula told the magazine that he is available to provide clarification if summoned, but he refused to comment on the events reported by the women to the authorities.
