Technical assistant Edelson de Morais, 36, died on Saturday (29) after being hospitalized for 20 days. He suffered body burns after an explosion while trying to light a fire in Mongaguá, on the coast of São Paulo. The information is from the newspaper A Tribuna.
According to the victim’s family, the accident occurred on the 9th, Father’s Day, during a barbecue. The boy tried to start a fire with a gallon of ethanol when there was an explosion, causing severe burns.
The victim was transferred to the Mongaguá Emergency Unit (UPA) and then transferred to Santa Casa de Santos, where she was hospitalized for 20 days, but could not resist the injuries. According to the Civil Police, the corporation was only informed of what happened after the child’s death.
In addition to Edelson, the woman and three other pairs of friends were at the home at the time of the accident. The police report was registered in the 7th PD of Santos as a bodily injury followed by death. The 1st PD of Mongaguá, a police station in the area, will be in charge of investigating the case.
