A decree published by the Federal Government established changes in the payment of 13th salary of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) for retirees and pensioners. According to the document, the INSS will advance the payment of the 13th for those who receive pensions, death pensions and other benefits annually, starting in 2021.
With the decree, the postponement option will be available every year. Therefore, it will not be necessary to disclose or announce the progress to the government. According to the regular calendar of the 13th salary, the payment is made at the end of the year, being common the advance of the first installment in August
This new option began in 2020, with the anticipation of the 13th for INSS beneficiaries who were affected by the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The government released the payment of quotas between the end of April and the beginning of June.
Even in the context of the pandemic, the Senate is evaluating the possibility of creating the 14th salary. In this case, the payment to the retirees and pensioners of the INSS would be made only this year, with the aim of helping those who have already withdrawn the 13th salary, but still face financial difficulties.
The reopening of the agency was postponed again
The face-to-face service at INSS branches has been suspended since March, with the onset of the pandemic. The agency has planned the reopening of branches throughout the country, which was initially scheduled for last Monday 24.
However, the INSS decided to postpone once again the return to face-to-face assistance, now scheduled for September 14.
Thus, until September 11, the Institute will continue to provide remote assistance. Until then, INSS services will be offered only through the My INSS website or application, or by phone, at Call Center 135.
Remote service will continue to be provided even after branches reopen. The INSS will also adopt measures such as the simplification of processes and extension of deadlines for the fulfillment of requirements (delivery of complementary documents).
