Fortaleza has maintained a good phase in Serie A and defeated Bragantino 3 to 0, in Castelão, in play for the 6th round. The Leon team beat the rival and won all 3 points with ease, with goals from Wellington Paulista, two, and Romarinho. (see how the game went from one move to another)
The result made the Tricolor de Aço jump from position 14 to 7 in Serie A, with 8 points, occupying the qualifying zone for the Copa Sudamericana. The next appointment of the Lion is the Classic-King against Ceará, on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in Castelão.
Coach Rogério Ceni chose Fortaleza with the best, only with Marlon instead of Juninho, sanctioned for the 3rd yellow card. With an offensive and mostly confident team, after beating Goiás and drawing with Corinthians, both away from home, Leão had no difficulties to beat Bragantino.

Although much of the first half was very scoring and little creativity from both teams, Fortaleza was always better and created the main chances until opening the scoring, with David losing an incredible goal with the open goal in the 28th minute.
It was then that the genius of Wellington Paulista appeared. The forward, consummate striker, showed a lot of category to score a great goal for the Tricolor, in the 39th minute: he saw goalkeeper Cleiton beforehand and sent a cover, opening the scoring for Leão: 1 to 0.
The Leonine advantage on the scoreboard would already be important for the final stage, when in minute 44, Massa Bruta was left with one less player: Weverson, from Bragantino, entered Tinga strong and received a yellow card. But the VAR analyzed the play, called Rafael Traci, who canceled the yellow card and expelled the Bragantino athlete.
Thus, for the 2nd half, León had the advantage on the scoreboard and numerically to play a better game and take the victory.
And this is what happened. Well positioned in all sectors, without giving space to the rival (who did not make Felipe Alves work in the match), Fortaleza was the owner of the 2nd half and guaranteed the victory.

Already occupying the offensive sector and pressing, Leão reached the 2nd goal in the 14th minute: after the assistance of Tinga, Romarinho hit without a chance for goalkeeper Cleiton.
From then on, what was seen was the Tricolor de Aço looking for the third goal, thanks to the ingenuity of coach Rogério Ceni, and a harmless rival. During the final stage, Ceni began saving players for the Clásico-Rey next Wednesday, removing players like Osvaldo and Romarinho, putting Yuri César and Frangapane on the field.
And there was still time for Leão to make the 3rd, at 40 minutes, again with Wellington Paulista. In a beautiful collective attack move by Leão, Gabriel Dias made a great play, center and Leon’s top scorer finished at the back of the goal, defining the game.
A quiet victory for the Steel Tricolor, which is now thinking of the Classic-King, next Wednesday at 7pm.
