The Minister of Women, Family and Human Rights, Damares Alves, participated with President Jair Bolsonaro in the live weekly this Thursday (27).
He issued a serious warning about the increase in sexual violence against children and especially against babies.
According to her, although the Dial 100 records fell by 17%, the number of abuses grew with social isolation, since most of the perpetrators, in these cases, are relatives and close people and the signs of violence were mainly identified at school , by teachers.
Additionally, Damares said there was an increase in the number of newborn rapes, but did not say what those figures would be.
It would be millions of reais circulating in the child pornography industry. A single image of an abused baby in Brazil can cost between R $ 50 and R $ 100,000, according to the minister.
“And I have sad news: in Brazil, it is already possible to pay to watch the abuse of a child live online. We are in chaos. It is not an invention of law. And the Minister of Justice and our ministry are going to face this in the online world. That’s what human rights are, ”he said. “There are millions of reais in this child pornography industry,” he added, saying that Brazil is producing images for the whole world.
Damares stressed that the federal government will not treat pedophilia as a disease or as justified, but rather as organized crime.
“We do not accept to relativize pedophilia in this government. Pedophilia is not relativized, it is not justified, it is not minimized and it is not explained. Pedophilia faces. It is useless to say that we are going to put everything in the framework of the disease. We are not going. We will face it as crime and organized crime ”, he declared.
The minister also spoke of the persecution she has suffered for calling into question the agenda to combat child pornography.
“There are many people who are fighting with the minister because they do not want this agenda to advance. In the last three weeks I have become the target of all kinds of persecution. Attention, who is entering the wave of persecution of the minister: who is behind? Who finances? This industry is rich, but this government is not afraid of organized crime! We are going to get ahead and we are going to save the babies (…) We are going to catch everyone ”, he concluded.
