The Federal District judge denied a request from the Public Ministry to withdraw the “300 Brazil” camp, established in the Esplanada dos Ministrios. According to the magistrate, Governor Ibaneis Rocha’s decree was related to the coronavirus pandemic in the investigation of public protests.

The Public Ministry argued that the camp violates measures of social detachment, recommended by health professionals due to the covid-19 pandemic and that it is at risk of spreading the disease. Also according to the agency, there are reports that some people are armed in the field, which would characterize “a criminal and paramilitary group.”

However, the Court of the 7th Federal District of the Federal District understood that it is now possible to avoid the right to freedom of assembly. For Justice, “this is not the time (yet) to totally sacrifice freedom of assembly and expression in public space, but rather to impose limitations on its full exercise, in view of the need for social withdrawal due to the Covid pandemic- 19. “

According to organizers, the camp is intended to support President Jair Bolsonaro. They even claim to invade the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and the National Congress. The militants are camped in tents.
