The superintendent of the Federal Police in Amazonas, Alexandre Saraiva, said on Wednesday (13) in testimony that in 2019 he was surveyed by the director general of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin), Alexandre Ramagem, if he agreed to assume the position of superintendent of the PF in Rio de Janeiro. According to Saraiva, he said “quickly” that he did.
Also in the testimony, Saraiva said that she “has no ties” with President Jair Bolsonaro.
Saraiva testified in the investigation investigating whether Bolsonaro attempted to interfere with the PF. In April, Sergio Moro announced his resignation as Minister of Justice, claiming that Bolsonaro had interfered with the corporation by firing then-CEO Maurício Valeixo.
Last year, the president said he wanted Alexandre Saraiva as PF superintendent in Rio de Janeiro. However, another delegate, Carlos Henrique de Souza, took office. Souza is the current CEO of the corporation.
“[Saraiva disse] who in the early second half of 2019 received a call from dr. Rage, asking the interviewee [Saraiva] if he would accept to assume the superintendence of the Federal Police in RJ, to which the declarant readily accepted. ”
According to him, Ramage said Bolsonaro was looking for job names. Saraiva was unable to say, however, why Ramage conducted surveys in positions not subordinate to him.
Saraiva also said that, at the Manaus airport, “he was questioned by the then minister [Sergio Moro] in the following terms: ‘Saraiva, what is this story about you in Rio de Janeiro?’ According to Saraiva, he reported Moro’s phone call from Ramaga.

Regarding the relationship with Bolsonaro, he affirmed “that the declarant has no friendship with the President of the Republic or with his family.” Saraiva also said that he was surveyed by the Ministry of the Environment in 2018, after Bolsonaro’s election.
In addition to Saraiva, other people gave testimony in the investigation, among them Maurício Valeixo (former general director of PF), Carlos Henrique Souza (former superintendent of PF in RJ) and the ministers Augusto Heleno (Office of Institutional Security) and Luiz Eduardo Ramos (Secretary of Government).
Maurício Valeixo, for example, stated that Bolsonaro told him that he wanted someone with “higher affinity “in the post.
Augusto Heleno, in turn, said that it was “natural” that the President of the Republic wanted a “close” person in office.

The PDT questioned the nomination, and STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes suspended Bolsonaro’s act.
With the suspension, Ramage returned to the post of director general of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin), and the delegate Rolando Alexandre de Souza, subordinate to Ramage in Abin, was appointed new director general of PF.
According to the testimony report, Alexandre Saraiva said on Wednesday that the survey of his name for the FP Superintendency in Rio de Janeiro “had no specific or specific mission or intention of interest” to Bolsonaro or Moro, because “If that were the case, the declarant would quickly refuse. ”
In announcing his resignation, Moro mentioned moments when Bolsonaro attempted to change the PF command in Rio de Janeiro.
In a statement, the former minister said Bolsonaro told him: “You have 27 superintendencies, I only want one.”
This Wednesday, Alexandre Saraiva declared that “everyone” who knows about the FP superintendence in Rio de Janeiro knows that the productivity of the unit “is not those things.”
