According to the SES, the last 26 deaths from the new coronavirus in Maranhão occurred in eight municipalities. Capital and the largest city in the state, São Luís had 15 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, while Imperatriz recorded five deaths in just one day. The cities of Raposa, Pedreiras, Bequimão, Rosário, São José de Ribamar and Itapecuru Mirim also confirmed the death of patients infected with the coronavirus during this period.
The SES also revealed that 171 municipalities in Maranhão have already confirmed cases of the new coronavirus, that is, 78.1% of the state’s cities have patients infected with Covid-19. São Luís (5,040), Imperatriz (523), São José de Ribamar (426), Chapadinha (257) and Paço do Lumiar (212) are the five municipalities of Maranhão with the highest number of coronavirus cases.
In its report, SES also confirms that the number of patients cured by the new coronavirus in Maranhão has increased to 2,529, with 652 people infected with Covid-19 being discharged in the past 24 hours. These people confirmed their recovery and were released according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health, since they spent 14 isolated days, counting from the date of onset of symptoms, and remain asymptomatic.

The list of patients infected with the new coronavirus in Maranhão has been updated in the SES bulletin. Among the 9,801 confirmed cases, there are 470 deaths, 338 ICU admissions (255 in the public network and 83 in the private network), 741 hospital admissions, 2,529 recovered patients and 5,723 people in isolation. Patients with positive results for Covid-19 are being monitored by teams from the Strategic Information Center for Health Surveillance (CIEVS).
Since the beginning of the monitoring, SES has analyzed 23,648 cases of possible infection with the new coronavirus and carried out 19,193 diagnostic tests in Maranhão. There are 9,801 confirmed cases, with 470 deaths and 2,529 recoveries, 4,406 suspected cases and 9,441 cases discarded. The methodology of the Ministry of Health counts deaths and cured patients among the confirmed cases in Covid-19.
People who show symptoms of the new coronavirus in São Luís can go to the Diamond Polyclinic Testing Center and to the Emergency Care Units (UPA) of Vinhais, Itaqui-Bacanga, Cidade Operária and Araçagy. Public health and safety professionals are being attended exclusively at Viva da Beira-Mar. For the population of the interior of Maranhão, regional hospitals continue to collect for exams.
