Senator Randolfe Rodrigues (Rede-AP) submitted a request to Minister Celso de Mello, dean of the Federal Supreme Court and rapporteur of the investigation into interference in the Federal Police, for the release of the entire ministerial meeting on April 22, cited like Moro as the occasion on which President Jair Bolsonaro had threatened to change the command of the PF in Rio. The recording was shown on Tuesday 12 to lawyers, prosecutors and the Attorney General of the Union of Moro, but the video remains confidential. Sources informed the state that during the meeting, Bolsonaro justified the need to change the PF superintendent in Rio to defend his own children, alleging that his family was being persecuted. The video was said to be devastating to the President’s defense.

Randolfe told Celso de Mello that the case is an important investigation for the Republic and that a quick solution to the controversy surrounding Moro’s statements against the president is essential for social pacification.

“There is no defense of privacy or social interest that justifies maintaining secrecy in relation to evidentiary elements related to the investigation of crimes against the Public Administration,” said the senator. “Therefore, it is imperative to disclose the aforementioned video as quickly as possible, so that society can freely decide on the facts exposed there.”

On Tuesday night, Minister Celso de Mello ordered the content of the meeting to be downloaded (transcribed), which should be sent to his chief of staff, Miguel Piazzi. The determination is due to the fact that the minister is working from his home in So Paulo due to the new coronavirus pandemic. The dean is 74 years old.
