Formal and informal commerce in the Pituba neighborhood, as well as non-essential services (except supermarkets, pharmacies, banks and lotteries) must remain closed for at least seven days.
“The intervention, a priori, will not affect the path. Transportation has not yet been restricted, but we had an 85% increase in vehicle flow in Pituba, where there are 77 cases. So, a priori, without changing traffic, without restricting mobility, but we are going to promote the closure of the border, ”said ACM Neto.
In addition, the city of Salvador will also ban a section of the Salvador coast that goes from the Olympic pool to the new Municipal Convention Center, in Boca do Rio. The measures will take effect from Wednesday (13).
“People will not be able to do physical activity, ride a bicycle, as they did. Any interdiction will be in charge of our technical team from the Ministry of Mobility, Transalvador, with the support of the Military Police and the Municipal Guard, “added the mayor.
Avenida Joana Angélica, Boca do Rio and Plataforma have already received restrictive measures as of this Monday (11). In these areas, the city of Salvador determined the adoption of access restrictions in these places, mainly vehicles. Changes are effective from 7am.
To minimize the social impact caused by the measures, the City Council offers the population of these places the distribution of masks; application of rapid tests in fixed stations; temperature measurement; and hygiene actions on the streets and the fight against Aedes aegypti, which transmits dengue, zika and chikungunya. In addition, the services of the Reference and Social Assistance Center (Cras), administered by the Municipal Secretariat for Social Promotion and Fight against Poverty (Always), are attended by the population.
Street vendors and vendors who work in these places have access to the basic basket that the City Council will offer, through the Municipal Secretariat of Public Order (Semop). The benefit will be granted even if the worker receives other aid from the municipal and federal governments, such as Salvador por Todos, and the emergency benefit of R $ 600 from the Federal Government.
