The Government, through the National Social Security Institute, published an ordinance regulating the payment of anticipation of R $ 600 to the people who applied for the benefit. A survey carried out by the “Estado de S. Paulo” newspaper with the entity identified that 177.5 thousand people are waiting for the benefit to be paid.
The Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC) is an assistance benefit, paid by the INSS, provided for in the Organic Law of Social Assistance.
The amount deposited is paid monthly, in the amount of a minimum wage, for elderly and disabled people who cannot support themselves and cannot be supported by their families. In this pandemic, they will also have the support of the Government.
How is it possible to receive money?
According to the ordinance of the Ministry of Citizenship, to receive the advance of the benefit, it is necessary that the applicant is registered in the Single (Single Registry for Social Programs), of the federal government, and have a family income of up to half the minimum wage per person.
From the payment of R $ 600 done before the person is accepted into the PCB, the value anticipated will be deducted from payments after the order is approved. According to the ordinance, if the applicant is denied the application after receiving the advance payment, it is not necessary to return the money, unless proven in bad faith.

Previously, in the 1993 law, the average income per person of a family could not exceed a quarter (1/4) of the minimum wage, to apply for the INSS BPC-LOAS benefit. Now, the limit has been raised to half (1/2) of the minimum wage.
Requirements to be entitled to the benefit
- Proof of minimum age of 65 (male or female) is still required to qualify for the benefit
- For those who have a long-term disability, the minimum age does not apply.
It is worth remembering that the law requires only one of these two requirements, that is, it is not necessary to have both in order to have the BPC-LOAS benefit.
Low income and enrollment in Cadúnico
- Before, the beneficiary had to demonstrate that the average family income was less than R $ 261.25 (per person). Now, you can get the benefit if you have a family income of less than R $ 522.50 (per person).
- The person is required to be registered in the Unified Registry (CadÚnico), but this requirement, during the coronavirus pandemic, does not apply.
