The Minister of Health used his social networks to pay tribute to those who lost their lives for Covid-19
Amid the silence of President Jair Bolsonaro, Health Minister Nelson Teich used his social networks on Sunday (10) to mourn the 10,000 deaths due to Covid-19, the mark reached the day before.
Today, May 10, we wake up with an enormous duality of feelings, which on the one hand brings us the joy of a day as special as Mother’s Day and, on the other hand, the sadness and suffering of having reached the terrible mark of more than 10,000 deaths from Covid-19 in Brazil.

“Today is a day marked by very different feelings: the special feeling of Mother’s Day and the feeling that reflects the suffering and sadness of the more than 10,000 deaths caused by Covid-19,” said the minister, in a publication in their networks. Social
This Sunday Brazil reached the mark of 11,123 dead victims of Covid-19. The country also registered a total of 162,699 registered cases of the disease.
Teich also sympathized with the families who will face a sadder Mother’s Day, because they lost their relatives or because they are working to face the virus.
“Here goes my solidarity, my affection, to those mothers who lost their sons or daughters; to those mothers who are with their children in the front line, distressed, fearful of what might happen to them; to the children who have lost their mothers , because some mothers were certainly lost in this way, “she said.
The minister also said that his portfolio and the federal government are working hard to “get us out of this problem as quickly as possible and with the least amount of lives lost.”
Unlike the minister, Jair Bolsonaro did not comment on the fact that the country reached the milestone of 10,000 deaths. The president had previously scheduled a barbecue for this Saturday, which ended up being canceled. In the afternoon, Bolsonaro was photographed on a water bike at Lake Paranoá, in Brasilia.
This Sunday, the president used his social networks to criticize the blockade decreed in the state of Maranhão, one of the measures that Minister Teich himself considers appropriate for the places most affected by the pandemic. The president’s publication features a video in which a police officer monitors compliance with the measure, adding that the situation is similar to that of Venezuela.
On the other hand, the Presidents of the House and the Senate, the Deputy Rodrigo Maia (DEM) and Senator Davi Alcolumbre (DEM), respectively, decreed an official three-day duel in honor of the 10,000 deaths in the country.
