Showing the 2010 edition of the Mário Lago Trophy, won by Hebe Camargo, this “Domingão do Faustão” on Mother’s Day paid tribute to the presenter, victim of a cardiorespiratory arrest in September 2012.

Between excerpts of Hebe’s participation in the program and, more specifically, in the painting “Aquivo Confidencial”, Faustão revealed that he only agreed to call it “Domingão” after the presenter had already cured the cancer discovered in January of that year. According to Fausto, he did not want to “gain an audience” at the expense of Hebe’s illness.

The 2010 Mário Lago Trophy was issued on December 26, 2010, almost ten months after the presenter returned to work, on March 8. Due to her personality and 60 years of television history, Hebe was chosen as the award winner.

“There are things in life that we hardly know how to explain. How am I going to explain the immensity that I feel? It was a great emotion, I felt like a star!” The presenter described at the time.

‘Domingão’ of nostalgia

The program, which suspended all live paintings due to the new coronavirus, today recalled artists who marked the childhood of many in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.

Xuxa, Angélica, Mara Maravilha and Sérgio Mallandro, presenters of children’s programs at that time, were the first to “appear”. “Domingão” also showed old performances by Toquinho, who sang the classic “Aquarela”, and Sandy & Junior (still children!) With “O Universo Necessas de Você”.

There was still room for Trem da Alegria, Balão Mágico, Dominoes, Molejo and Rouge, which moved the audience of “Domingão” with “Ragatanga” in 2002.
