Brazil reached 11,123 deaths from the new coronavirus today, according to the latest data published by the Ministry of Health. There were 496 confirmed deaths in the last 24 hours.

The portfolio also announced that, so far, the country has registered 162,699 confirmed cases of covid-19. From yesterday to today, there were 6,760 new diagnoses. The case fatality rate is 6.8%.

The state of São Paulo has the most reports, with 45,444 cases and 3,709 deaths, followed by Rio de Janeiro (17,062 diagnoses and 1,714 deaths) and Ceará (16,692 cases and 1,114 deaths).

The highest mortality rate is found in Amazonas (242), which represents 12,599 cases and 1,004 deaths. The rate is calculated per 1 million inhabitants.

The state with the least number of notifications is Mato Grosso do Sul (362 cases and 11 deaths), which had the number of deaths equal to Tocantins (688 diagnoses and 11 deaths); Until yesterday, Tocantins only had the lowest number of deaths from the disease, with 9 deaths.
