Goiás ranked last in the country in a ranking that measures social isolation, according to the company In Loco, which uses cell phone location data as a basis. On Saturday (9), the state registered the lowest rate among all Brazilian states, with 37.44% of people inside the house, occupying the classification lantern (see the full ranking below)

The state has been among the leaders of social isolation. On March 22, the same survey recorded 62.2% of the mobile phones detained in the state, that is, the population moved less frequently. That percentage of people unemployed in a place began to fall since March 26, a fall without restrictions.

Starting in the second half of April, there was a further reduction in isolation, after Goiás began to relax measures to contain the coronavirus. The municipalities have launched the reopening of many commercial segments. Confirmed cases of deaths from the new virus began to rise, and so did infected people.

The G1 He requested a position from the state government on the fall of social isolation and what measures can be taken to prevent the spread of the virus, which has already infected 1,093 people and caused 47 deaths, according to the bulletin published on Sunday (10)

Social isolation has been one of the measures most used by the state government and the municipalities to stop the spread of the coronavirus among the population. The reasoning is that the longer people stay home, the less likely it is that the virus will spread through the streets.

On April 24, Goiás Governor Ronaldo Caiado (DEM) admitted the idea of tightening social isolation and closing all non-essential trade again. “What we are seeing now is a mayor in dispute with the other who publishes more [o comércio]. I want to ask everyone for their understanding at this time. Don’t play. We can throw a 40-day job on the floor, “said Caiado.

En Loco claims that data collection is only done with permission from app users. In addition, it says that information such as name, ID or CPF is not transmitted. In Goiás, data from 2 million cell phones were analyzed.

The company also reports that it also uses geometric measurements, called polygons, established by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), to measure the location of the population’s cell phones.
