With more than 15 launches on the account in 2020, Xiaomi is preparing to announce four other devices in China in May. One, the Redmi 10X 4G, is the local version of a model announced globally, while the others would be truly new to any market, not to mention the POCO announcement, which is also part of the giant’s conglomerate, scheduled for the day. May 12.
Officially, the company said it will have news in the coming weeks, through Redmi brand manager Lu Weibing. The executive wrote on the Chinese social network Weibo that “we will have new surprises in May.” Meanwhile, rumors indicate models with different MediaTek chipsets and one with a yet-to-be-announced Qualcomm platform.
The most secure release so far is the Redmi 10X 4G, no less than the Redmi Note 9 for the Chinese market, with the intermediate Helio G80 processor. The profile Digital chat station He also mentioned two other smartphones, which would be the Redmi 9 (which can also come out as Redmi 10) and another device with the Dimensional 800 chipset, a cheap MediaTek platform with 5G.
The Redmi 9 appeared as Xiaomi Merlin in a test of GeekBench, which shows the integrated Helio G70 platform, plus 6 GB of RAM. Another report says the device would have the same G80 present in the Redmi Note 9, but then it wouldn’t make much sense, since the company would have two models with virtually identical hardware, not that Xiaomi seems too concerned with making sense.
Cheap with 5G and other K30
The Dimensional 800 model, MediaTek’s low-cost 5G platform, may be the Redmi K30i vented in some rumors. Other information that would have leaked is the 48 MP camera on the back. This may be the company’s cheapest 5G smartphone, with a price range of less than $ 260 (R $ 1,498). An alleged representation of the device was distributed, but was removed from the site Slashleaks after being suspected of being fake.
And finally, but without respecting a possible launch order, another Redmi K30 can join the family, this one with Qualcomm platform and support for 5G. The product should be presented next week, at an event scheduled for 11.
The Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition has a cut-out screen for two front cameras, apparently, according to an advance that Xiaomi himself launched. The device must be sold on the JD.com website, which already reports some of the alleged hardware features: 64 MP main camera along with an 8 MP ultra wide angle and 5 MP macro, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The LCD screen has a frequency of 120 Hz and 6.67 inches.
Also, the phone must host the Snapdragon 768G platform with 5G support. Qualcomm has yet to officially announce the chipset, but a sort of turbo version of the Snapdragon 765 is expected.
The Redmi presentation is scheduled for May 11 at 2 pm in China (3 am Brasilia time).
