“The Armed Forces will always be on the side of law, order, democracy and freedom. This is our commitment,” says the statement.
The note (read in full below) was published the day after President Jair Bolsonaro participated in an act with undemocratic and unconstitutional guidelines. Broadcasting during the protest, Bolsonaro said he had the Armed Forces “on our side, and God above all.”
The Defense Ministry note also classifies the assault on media professionals as “unacceptable”. On Sunday (3), World Press Freedom Day, journalists and photographers were attacked while filming the act in front of the Planalto Palace.
“Freedom of expression is a fundamental requirement of a democratic country. However, any attack against press professionals is unacceptable,” says Azevedo e Silva.

Bolsonaro’s statements
In his speech, Bolsonaro said that the Armed Forces are with him and that he “has reached the limit”, that he “has no further conversation”, without explaining what that means, and what he plans to do if there are new judicial decisions on the acts of the presidency of the Republic considered illegal.
“You know that people are with us, the Armed Forces, along with law, order, democracy and freedom, are also on our side, and God above all.”
“Let’s play the boat. I pray to God we don’t have a problem this week. Because we have reached the limit, there is no more conversation. Okay? From now on, we will not only demand, we will enforce the Constitution. It will be enforced. any price. And it has a double direction. It is not just a one-way hand. Tomorrow we will appoint a new FP director, “he said.
- Jurists, politicians and entities react to Bolsonaro’s new participation in an undemocratic act
Without directly citing the decision of STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes, who suspended the appointment of Alexandre Ramagem to the head of the Federal Police, President Jair Bolsonaro said that “he will no longer admit interference.”
“We want the best for our country. We want true independence from the three branches of government and not just a letter from the Constitution, we don’t want that. No more interference. We will not admit more interference. We have no patience. We are going to get Brazil out of here”. ”
Last week, Bolsonaro classified Moraes’ decision as “political” and asked the Federal Prosecutor’s Office (AGU) to appeal to release Ramage’s possession. On Monday (4), the president appointed Rolando Alexandre de Souza to the general direction of the FP.
