Japan on Monday extended a state of emergency across the country until the end of May. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s decision was made after government officials warned it was too early to loosen restrictions to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus (Sars-Cov-2).
On April 7, the prime minister introduced a state of emergency in Tokyo and six other regions of the country, which has 126 million inhabitants. A few days later, the measure spread to the entire nation, which already records more than 500 deaths.

Development of a vaccine against the new coronavirus could take years, the German Health Minister warned.
“I wish it were possible to develop in a few months, but it seems that we need to be realistic.
