Central Park Hospital to Close After Covid-19 Accident in New York | Coronavirus

The announcement was made this Saturday (2) by the Christian group that the unit, amid the decrease in cases in the city that was the epicenter of Covid-19 pandemic in the U.S.

Samaritan’s Purse, a United States-based Christian humanitarian organization, said in a statement that the field hospital had treated people infected with coronavirus and would stop receiving new patients as of Monday.

Hospital ship leaves New York

The dismantling announcement comes after the USNS Comfort hospital ship left New York last Thursday. Both initiatives were part of the operation to increase the number of beds in New York State, raising them to 110 mi.

Cuomo announced Saturday that 299 New Yorkers had died of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, slightly more than the 289 recorded the day before.

He added that hospitalizations and intubations continued to decrease. The coronavirus caused nearly 19,000 deaths in New York state.
