The president of Caixa, Pedro Guimarães, said today that 700,000 beneficiaries of the Bolsa-Familia program will not receive emergency aid of R $ 600 because they do not comply with the rules of the program.
According to him, these people have formal jobs or receive another benefit from the government, such as the BPC (continuous payment benefit).
According to Guimarães, a million people withdrew the benefit using cards. He did not detail the volume withdrawn by Caixa’s clients. As of 2 pm today, 892,600 people had withdrawn R $ 506 million without cards.
Schedule of the second installment after Bolsonaro’s decision
The second part of the emergency aid payment will be released after a meeting with President Jair Bolsonaro (without a party) later this week, Guimarães said.
He stated that he has already presented a proposal for dates to the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, and will have a meeting with the Minister of Citizenship, Onyx Lorenzoni.
According to him, after the arrangements with Onyx, the meeting with Bolsonaro will take place.
Branches open next Saturday
Queues at Caixa branches, Guimarães said, occur because the beneficiaries of Bolsa Família and the informal ones without counting require personal assistance from employees of public banks.
According to the bank president, up to 1,400 branches will be opened next Saturday (9) to withdraw emergency aid.
