Barbalho also said that the government already determines and monitors the isolation policy as a central guide in the fight against the new coronavirus. “Security officials have been approaching for nearly 50 days across the state to ensure that activities that generate movement of people are closed.”
Pará already exceeds 3,350 confirmed cases and 260 deaths. 1,592 recovered and 353 cases under analysis. The exclusive bed occupancy rate for Covid-18 is 85%.
In Belém, the epicenter of Covid-19 in the state, the use of masks is mandatory. However, many people continue to form crowds at fairs, supermarkets and also in bank branches. The capital had a social isolation rate of 49% last Thursday (30). The city closed non-essential trade only last Monday.
A video shows an agglomeration formed in a pharmacy, which provided drugs used to combat the symptoms of disease. The drugs do not yet have proof of effectiveness and should only be used with a prescription, according to the Ministry of Public Health (Sespa).
After the beds in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) were exhausted and the municipal health units were overcrowded in Belém, the state government decided to offer care to patients with symptoms of Covid-19 in state hospitals, such as Abelardo Santos and Galileu .
Even this Friday, Barbalho mentioned the measures taken since March 16 by the government to combat the pandemic, such as the closure of bars, restaurants and shopping centers; suspension of classes; prohibition of interstate transportation by road and river; suspension of international air flights and limitation of domestic flights; sanitary barriers during long vacation periods; and the obligation to wear masks on public transport.
